Rhododendron ponticum

Rhododendron ponticum produces abundant mauve blooms throughout late spring, early summer, and is a vigorous, invasive evergreen shrub which can be seen growing throughout British woodlands, often crowding out native plants and shrubs. Best described as a woodland weed, albeit attractive when in flower.
