leaf rust on geraniums (pelagoniums)

The underside of a geranium (pelagonium) leaf, showing the brown/orange spores of geranium leaf rust, a common problem if the plants are frequently splashed by water, or receive too much rain, or are grown in humid conditions in a greenhouse. Warmth, sunshine and good ventilation are the keys to success. Too much fertiliser produces soft, sappy growth (at the expense of flowers) and is another factor to consider.
